Father Flanagan's Boys' Home, more popularly known as "Boys Town" (located in Boys Town, Nebraska) designed and implemented a national training program that shares their highly effective spiritual formation program for at-risk adolescents. This project investigated the answers to two questions: 1. What does the spiritual life of at-risk youth look like? 2. What do at-risk youth say helps them to grow spiritually? Field and academic research resulted in a training manual, Pathways: Fostering Spiritual Growth Among At-Risk Youth. A companion training program was also developed and used to train over 500 youth workers in the US and Canada. The project spawned a number of other community-based programs.
