The Orthodox Union is the umbrella organization for modern Orthodox Judaism in the United States. Its youth section, the National Council of Synagogue Youth, supports programs in forming youth into religiously active and morally responsible adults. This study examined the effectiveness of religious youth work. Activities under this grant included: surveys of participants in the National Council of Synagogue Youth, interviews, and observation of current programs. The results of this project are expected to be useful not only to the Orthodox Union, but to other religious denominations struggling to address issues of youth formation.
