Abstract:

The most significant difference between seminary education in the Roman Catholic and Protestant traditions is the long time emphasis in the former that seminary is a place both for education and formation for prospective ministers. This grant supported Edward Ciuba, former president of the Roman Catholic Seminary in Newark, New Jersey, in his study of the past, present, and future of spiritual formation in the American seminary context. Ciuba's primary objective was to complete a monograph on the impact of changing ecclesiological and Christological models on Roman Catholic seminary education. (RG)
