Abstract:

In cooperation with the Interdenominational Theological Center, Robert M. Franklin conducted a follow-up study to a previously funded project by the Lilly Endowment on African American religion. The former project conducted a national survey of African American religion, black congregations, and Muslim masjids. In order to make the information of this survey available to African American congregations and denominations, Franklin and his research team trained seminary students and faculty in methods of conducting research. A wealth of data was gathered by these researchers that profiled the character of American congregations that are predominantly Black.
