Abstract:

In an effort to understand the dynamics in the profession of youth ministry and to contribute to the effectiveness and longevity of American youth ministers, David Rahn conducted a study of the state of Protestant youth ministry in America. Rahn and his associates conducted a number of surveys via direct mail and followed up their work with two post card mailings. After receiving several responses, Rahn and his associates consulted top statisticians, Mark and Milo Brekke, who revealed that the youth ministers' responses from the survey fell into natural categories. Rahn and his associates then wrote a detailed book addressing issues and problems that Protestant youth ministers face.
