Abstract:

This volume provides a summary of the findings of the seven volume series entitled "The Presbyterian Presence: The Twentieth-Century Experience." This Presbyterian Presence study was one of the most extensive investigations of an American Christian denomination in the last century. It employs the history of the Presbyterian Church (USA) as a case study of the dramatic changes that mainstream American Protestant denominations have experienced in the twentieth century.
