Abstract: 

This volume considers the history of outreach, ecumenism and pluralism in the denominational antecedents of the Presbyterian Church (USA). Examples are given of the interlocking and sometimes interfering interplay among outreach, ecumenism and pluralism in the quest for distinctive Presbyterian discipleship. Separate essays are provided on the history of Presbyterian who are African American, Hispanic, Korean American, Japanese American and Native American.
