West discerns three sources of the crisis in theological education: institutional confusion, intellectual upheaval, and constituencies disconnected from spiritual, biblical, and ritualistic practices of vital Christian ministry. Reform begins with changing the self-images of seminary faculty, as well as centering curriculum on hermeneutical historical consciousness. (RG)
