Abstract:

One of the themes in the College Transition Project research conducted by the Fuller Youth Institute (FYI) is the vital role of parents in the faith development of teenagers. Yet in FYI’s conversations and focus group with parents, they often feel ill-equipped to know how to partner with churches for their son or daughter’s spiritual development. This five-session DVD series touches on many of the important ways parents can help their child develop Sticky Faith, including sharing about their own faith journey, connecting their child to an intergenerational community, and helping their child understand the gospel of grace instead of behavioralism. Video interviews and discussion questions accompany each session to help small groups or couples better process and contextualize the research to their own settings.
