Abstract: 

The largest number of proposals presented to and funded by the Issues Research in Theological Education Program see the loss of unity in theological education as most significant; a smaller group sees an inadequacy of scope in theological studies. The difference appears as a disagreement over focus on theoria or praxis. Future research efforts need to be clearer about presuppositions and values related to "fragmentation" and "pluralism." (RG)
