Abstract:

Presentation to the International Conference on Media, Religion, and Culture, Toronto, Canada, August 2010: This paper explores the process through which two youth groups came to produce digital stories about their identities. Each group worked together to identify key stories of their lives together and then found images, photos, music, and narratives to communicate their identity. The completed video provides insight into how the groups see themselves, thus contributing not only to the lives of the groups, but also to how qualitative researchers might produce visually rich research narratives that result from engaging in dialogical processes with the groups that are studied.
