Abstract:

Creative Aging leads small Christian communities through six sessions that examine the transitions of retirement and senior adulthood in America in light of the Christian faith. The sessions look at the meaning and expectations of retirement, managing retirement, cultivating the creative spirit in the retirement years, finding meaning and purpose in retirement, accepting the freedoms and difficulties of aging, and preparing for death, “the ultimate transition.” As part of RENEW International’s Impact Series, the booklet follows the Social Inquiry Approach of “observe, judge, and act,” leading participants in a process of prayerful reflection, fruitful sharing and concrete actions.
